I am a freelance journalist and I write about design and interiors for newspapers and magazines (Financial Times, The Telegraph, The Independent, The i Paper, The London Magazine, Alto Magazine, OnOffice Magazine, Studio Magazine). This blog is where I write about design related things that interest me in the hope that they might interest you too. I regularly attend design trade shows in London and Milan and cover them here.
I spent several years working at The Independent newspaper as an Associate Editor on the Saturday Magazine doing interviews, writing features and commissioning writers. I also edited the design and interiors section of the magazine which involved putting together the bi-annual Design and Interiors issues, running news stories, interviewing people - and looking around a lot of nice houses. This is where my interest in design was really sparked.
Before journalism I spent a few years working for a creative marketing agency called Yellow Door [now called The Portas Agency] owned by the inimitable Mary Portas, representing brands including Dunhill, Thomas Pink and Furla. I did press relations, client liaison and organised a lot of parties.
I am married with two sons and live and work in Surrey, England.
My pieces for the Financial Times House & Home supplement are hidden behind the paywall, but here's a link.
Here's an interview I did for The Sofa & Chair Company's blog where they used an embarrassingly massive photo.
